Cairncroft

This busy family of 5 called me in last year to assist them with the renovation of their 80’s home situated in beautiful southeast Oakville. The home had been previously renovated approximately 10 years earlier but it was looking tired and outdated. Although they had already purchased some sofas, they hired me to help them complete their family room and assist with their kitchen and mudroom/laundry room renovation. When decorating their family room, we found inspiration in an original piece of artwork by artist Sue Penny which worked well with their oriental area rug in blues and reds. So we decided to upholster their new club chairs in a beautiful royal blue fabric which really added a punch of colour to their otherwise “greige” walls. My clients also wanted rustic hardwood floors so we found this hand scraped flooring that picked up the colour of their rustic kitchen table and bench. We also worked with these warm tones when choosing their over sized maple coffee and end tables. The kitchen was also completely gutted and renovated in an “industrial farmhouse” style with exposed shelving, soapstone counter tops, random strip tumbled marble back splash and shaker style cabinets. The black library pulls, white leather modern counter stools and brushed nickel pendant lights finish off the style nicely. Finally, we renovated their laundry/mud room to include built in seating and shelving, new Caesar stone counter tops and rustic style porcelain floor tiles. Truly an incredible transformation and exceptionally happy clients!
