Here are some pictures of the ornate mouldings we got rid of
This time around I decided to use Quartz instead of granite as I find it easier to care for and it has cleaner lines. I really wanted my island to stand out so I used one of Caesarstone’s newest lines called “Calacatta Nuvo”.
I also wanted the perimeter to be darker to contrast with the white cupboards so I chose a dark grey with a bit of “interest” without being too busy called “Raven”.
Lastly, the backsplash I chose tied in both countertops nicely as well as the colour of my new cupboards. It’s by “Mud” and it’s called “Mosaic Runway Salt Mix” and it’s a beautiful mix of both honed and polished Carrera Marble in varying sizes. The colour of the cupboards I chose is by Benjamin Moore and is called “Chantilly Lace”.
Here are some pics of some of the work being done along the way.
Love my new faucet!!!!!!
I also changed my kitchen table black ladderback chairs to white leather parsons chairs and my light fixture to something more contemporary by Murray Feiss but I kept my prized harvest table. The new chairs work with my current counter stools nicely and the light fixture pairs well with my polished nickel pendant lights.
And finally I accessorized in a fresh apple green. Are you ready for the reveal?
I’m so pleased with how it all turned out! Here is my new, improved and updated kitchen! Fresh, clean lines, bright and cheerful! Now what took me so long to do it?!?
